The world’s most prestigious and longest reigning event for corporate social responsibility and corporate governance, The Global CSR Summit & Awards and the Global Good Governance Awards 2017, will reach its ninth successive year and will be held for first time in Malaysia.
The island of Langkawi, belonging to the state of Kedah, was unanimously selected by past attendees and the organizing committee for its beautiful natural endowments and eco-friendly practices. Since its inception, the event has been hosted in several countries including Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia and attended by attendees from all over the world. The shift of the venue to Malaysia is an opportune time due to the growing concern and the awareness of CSR and corporate governance issues in Malaysia. Despite recent challenges, we have also witness a growing trend of more Malaysian companies showing positive efforts in the area of corporate responsibility and governance.

Since then, the event has grown from strength to strength and attracted a strong following of over 400 global and regional companies globally that participated or followed the event. The Global CSR Summit & Awards & The Global Good Governance Awards has become known as a global brand known for raising cutting edge ideas and topics in matters of societal transformation, product innovations that change the world and controversial topics that aim to inspire bold ideas to drive large scale changes and improvements to the environment, people and the planet.
Ms Audrey Van Houten, Global Events Director of The Global CSR Summit & Awards commented: “The Global CSR Summit & Awards has withstood the test of time and has continuously been supported by respected companies from around the world including some of the Fortune 500 companies. The standards of this event have been raised higher since last year to lead the practice in not accepting sponsorships from companies that want to submit their nominations for the awards. This sets us apart from all the other competing events in this space. Despite this, participation from Companies and support from various stakeholders in the governmental and NGOs have in fact increased which is a strong endorsement to the high moral ethics that this event holds.”

The organisers have chosen an exciting theme for the event, “Rebooting Capitalism –Exploring New Market Models”, where the conference will showcase world class presentations and discussions from leading practitioners from the world on workable economic, social and environmental models to meet the demands of today’s and tomorrow’s societies. The event will also host the two prestigious awards show concurrently with a workshop and a breathtaking eco-tour around the beautiful Langkawi Island on the second day of the event.

For this year’s awards ceremony which will be during the conference, over 200 delegates both local and overseas from will be present at the event including some of the region’s most established organisations who will be eagerly awaiting the announcement of the awards which include the following categories:
